Letter from the Pastor:

Greetings in the name of Jesus,

It is with great joy that I greet you as pastor of the Saint James Church. I have been blessed to be the pastor of this great church for the past 21 years, with every year being better than the one before. God has blessed us beyond measure over the time that I have been here as pastor and we have made many strides to make our church a welcoming congregation for all who enter our doors. We are excited that you have chosen to take the time to look at our web site to learn about the church. We welcome you to take a closer look at what we have to offer you in the midst of your Spiritual growth and walk and do hope and pray you will be lead to come and visit us in our physical home on the corner of Third Street and Avenue H in the great city of Temple. The Saint James Family is a great family to be a part of and a place of love, compassion and nurturing. It is my prayer that as you look for a place for you and your family to worship that you will consider we are a "Mighty good Family!" to be a part of. It is our prayer that you continue to prosper in all your endeavors and that God's richest blessings will always rest upon you.

In Jesus' Joy,

Pastor Gibson

Letter to the Pastor:

Quinton J. Gibson, Sr. has been in ministry over 30 years and the Pastor at the St. James United Methodist Church in Temple, Texas for the last 18 years. We thank God for every single day he has been our Pastor and the blessings we have received through him. While he has many accomplishments in his life, academic and otherwise, he would never want to be known as a scholar. He is however known as Father to a few, Pastor to some, Quinton to others, Gip to many and friend to all. He is parent, pastor, leader, friend, mentor and community leader but he is best known simply as a man of God. He teaches the St. James church the importance of studying God’s Word, to know more of Him, to serve Him and move toward servant leadership. He encourages the church family to move from believers to knowers to doers of His Word. He provides an atmosphere  that promotes leadership, friendship, fellowship and spiritual growth. If there was a moment in history to describe the Body of Christ known as the St. James church it would read: “A Community of Faith, Sharing, Caring and Loving One Another Through the Love of Christ.”

In Christian Love,

The St. James Family
